As Business Development Manager Export, you will be responsible for expanding international markets and strengthening market position in various countries. You will work closely with local existing and prospective dealers from which a wide range of international customers will be recruited and served. You are not only a successful salesman, but above all an advisor who adds value by advising customers on efficient and sustainable transport solutions. In doing so, you immerse yourself in new markets by mapping opportunities including local plans of action containing considerations where the opportunities and (technical) challenges lie in relation to possible limiting factors. You then execute these plans.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to enter new export markets and expand existing export markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with local dealers and end users through the dealers.
- Identify new business opportunities and actively approach potential customers through and with dealers.
- Advise international clients on innovative and sustainable transportation solutions, with a focus on technology, efficiency and cost savings.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales (incl inside sales), marketing, engineering, manufacturing and service, to translate customer needs into logistics (technical) transportation solutions.
- Participation in international trade shows and events to expand network of local dealers and customers in various countries to increase brand awareness and grow sales. Willingness to travel 40%.
Who are we looking for?
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in export sales or business development, preferably in the logistics sector.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with and knowledge of truck trailers or similar products and/or (supply chain) services are a plus, but not a hard requirement.
- Network: An existing international network within the transportation and logistics sector; Strong preference.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in Dutch and English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Personality: Commercially driven, customer focused and proactive. You have strong problem-solving skills and are able to work independently and learn quickly.
- Sustainability: Interest in and knowledge of sustainable logistics solutions are a major plus.
